The Ontario government is investing more than $3.7 billion per year in mental health and addiction strategies. The Wynne government is also investing from $9 million to $15 million per year in on campus health services. However, Ontario is still glued with mental crisis particularly among the marginalized groups despite of the increase in funding. Moreover, the chronical mental problems are still under funded. Critic also says that the funding is not available for the youth that are not in post-educational institution with mental problems . Children’s Mental Health Ontario (CMHO) has urged the Wynne government to invest approximately $ 118 millions in order to address the shortage of funding for children and youth with mental illness who cannot access the treatment on time.
